Music Moment: Beyonce

So earlier this morning Sasha aka Beyoce released 'Halo' and 'Diva' apon the world.

Halo

I have never bought a Beyonce album so I didn't start this time around either (pause ofr reaction). But I've heard so many accolades about this song so I had to view the video. And it is idyllic.I will say this, in the video I see Beyonce circa early 2000 when she was on that episode 'Smart Guy'. She appearded so sweet, kind and down to Earth. Sasha was no where on this video, and it was glamorous.Beyonce has come along way since then but being in love works for her.

Diva

There go Sasha! No doubt this song is tab bit arrogant and pompous but don't act like you haven't already picked out the line of the song that will be your headline on Myspace (mine is 'no passengers on my plane, just felt like sharing).

Merry Christmas!

The National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is the elixer to anyone's Christmas blues! The following clip is CLASSIC! Enjoy!

Crank that...

When will these "Crank that..." dances stop? Let's see there's crank that superman, crank that homeless man, crank that Ricky bobby, crank that Temptations, crank that bird walk. Then there are dances such as 'My Dougie', the stanky leg, the booty-do and so on. Are these dances legitimate? Are these dances all the rave at our local Jr. High schools? When will it stop? The future is grim for any future dance move to be made because it looks as if we're clusterfucked when it comes time for family get togethers. I know damn well that my grandmother will not 'Crank that Bird walk' nor she does have a 'Dougie'. Maybe this is all some humiliating ruse by Flava Flav...yeah, that's what it is...since his ass looks like a real live Blackface, we all should act like one.

Jizz in my pants

This post is an exotic taste for this blog but I must admit, I found the above video majestic and I'm far from ashame to admit it.

'The Dark Knight' still breaking records

Like every other man child, freak and geek, I bum rushed the movie theater to bask in the glory that is 'The Dark Knight'. Now I will admit that I had no intention of seeing this movie but after being pestered then being called a partypooper by my slightly younger and more aggressive cousin (him and his mother are Batman stans as well as die hard 'X-Men' fans as well which I am, the X-men part then only the movies at that) bullied me into spending my Dollar Menu money for the week on a movie ticket. Being the Negros that we are, we bounced into the theater 10 minutes after showtime which meant there were little to no seats in a sea of faces lacking in color (white people). Sidebar for a minute, we seem to live by CP time because the rare times that we do attend movies, we're late and this applies to church as well. But back to the topic at hand, I had every little faith in this movie. I figure that people where simply seeing the movie because Heath had passed. I ate those words and then some. I'm a bit of a rebel because sometimes I root for the villain and there hasn't been a 'bad guy' that cool since Scarface or dude from 'The Breakfast Club'. The Joker was a mastermind with an demonic vile yet genius plan.Watch the following clips to peep The Joker's psychotic swag...

After seeing those, I had to think, Heath had to be in some serious pain and sorrow because The Joker was dark and demented and Heath played him very well which is scary. Thoughts? Click the link above to read how The Joker is still making moves to being a 'bad guy' legend.

Movie Maddness

This month two genius plays have been transformed into major motion films and I'm anxious to spend, what 8 or 9 dollars at the movie box per ticket to view these movies. Both 'Doubt' and 'Frost/Nixon' each have received 5 Golden Globe nominations.

World AIDS Day

This is one national recognized day that does not have a "happy" in front of it. At times it seems like the world is doing things in vain. What I mean is, America elected Barack yet still million lives are going to lost this year regardless if America isn't at war. I really don't want to touch too much on this topic. I will let you in on something however, AIDS is one if not the main reason I'm still holding onto my virginity. The following video is on an young man barely living while he's HIV positive.

Black Friday: Was it that serious?

I'm sure by now we've all heard the story of the Wal-mart employee being trambled to death on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Then I heard a story about two men shooting and losing their lives in the process at Toys'R' Us. Now it's been said that the last one was gang related but I beg to differ, we've all been into Toys'R'Us at least once and seen kids act a damn fool when their denied a toy, so I'm sure these two men were willing to die before returning home empty handed to Jr. But can I just take a moment to laugh? The unsettling fact that a life was lost in the great quest to find whatever it was that got those jaded shoppers up at the wee hours of the morning, is not funny but the story is undeniable funny. Now I've only attended a Black Friday event once, with my cheap aunt and I laughed my ass off. There was a swarm of depressed Wal-Mart shoppers willing to do anything to part the doors and go lurking for marked down items. And when they opened the doors? Pure mayhem yet it was like watching 'Being Brown': it's funny yet so, so, so sad. Watch the following video and laugh...

Spice Rack humor

Let it be known that I am a huge 'The Colbert Report' fan. I will admit that I've never been one to tune in to the news let alone politics but due to The Change, CNN rarely ever leaves my television. But being that I have a white college boy sense of humor, 'The Daily Show' and 'The Colbert Report' gives me the news but with a comedic twist. Being that I am openly staning for Stephen, I was feening to watch his Christmas special however, John Legend stole the program...

Obama is such a Nerd

And I love it! I'm considering making this blog all things Barack! Last night I watched The Colbert Report (whom I've recently grown to love) and he spoke of this list made up of things that we didn't know about the President-elect. HE collects comic books, plays Scabble, enjoys The Fugees and click the title to view the rest of the list. Barack is my type of guy. And excuse the age slip up, I can't help it at times.

An Open Letter to President Obama

Alice Walker published an open letter to President Barack Obama today that is very moving. If you just click the title for this post, it'll take you over to The Root, enjoy.

The American Dream redeemed

As I sit here in front of this PC I truly have no idea what to type. The moment it was announced that Obama won Florida I knew he was going to win, then he flip Ohio and turned it blue then 5 seconds later "Obama president-elect" flashed across the screen. I doubled back to see if I had read correct and I jumped and screamed God knows what. When Barack won the nomination back in August, I made it clear to friends, family and co-workers to not be an ignorant voter, know the platforms before you pick a side. I refused to be like many other Blacks in this nation and vote for Barack simply because he is written off as "a black man" so I keep quite when it came to political talk among a group. But last night, watching that crowd of Americans, not a certain race, I couldn't help but think about Dr.King and The Promise Land, that crowd was The Promise Land.

We first time or younger voters

As I've said before, I am a first time voter and it's nice to see that I'm not the only young person going voting crazy. I've harassed my co-workers and even strangers.I just felt like sharing this video. Since it is Election day, I can go over do it a tab bit.

The Last Rally

This video also supplies the video about Obama's late grandmother.

Teen pregnancy and TV

If you click the title, it will take you over to CNN whom has reported a study which links teen pregnancy to sexual content on the Idiot Box. I'm sure by now, your under the impression that this is an Election or political blog, which it isn't. This blog, like others, is just my personal thoughts.

Obama and his Quiet Hero

I'm sure that everyone has heard the news that Barack Obama's grandmother passed during her sleep yesterday morning. There really is no need for me to make any comments on the following video other than God bless Obama as well as his family in this time of need.

History Party

As we all know, today is Election day! Like Obama said yesterday in Florida (or 'Ohio' like he mistakenly referred to the state in which he was in), these last twenty-one months have been trying and I happy Obama, his family and his supporters have made it to this day. Which ever way the American people chose to run this nation, this is historical. Be that as if may, I hope we voted for the change. So, what are your plans for tonight? I have tonight off which means that my Idiot box won't leave MSNBC until I hear the results.

The other P.O.W in this race

A few days back, I gazed with hopeful eyes at Bill Clinton at an Obama rally. Clinton stated that he appreciated John McCain for his services to this great country. For some reason, that line made an impression in my memory. Last night, I tuned in to Jon Sweart's "program" as Obama referred to the show (your age is showing Barack) and he like Clinton praised McCain for his service to America. Huh. Those two incidents have been on constant replay in my mind and I've had to put them to good use. We all know that McCain was an P.O.W but wasn't Obama one as well? Matter of fact, isn't he still one? It's rather easy to see what war he's fighting in, the always populer race war. For a second, I thought it was 2008 and not 1958 but I was brought back to my senses when I viewed the reports of a young white lady claimed that a black man craved a "B" for Barack in her cheek, a band of Neo Nazis goons failed plan to assissnate Obama as well as innocent black stundents on a Tennesse college or the picture sent to my phone of a white man with "nigger please, it's the white house" written on the back of his shirt. After years apon years post Civil Rights Movement, our nation is still divided. This war is still waging but it's battles aren't as public as they once were. People are very two-faced this days. Instead of openly saying "nigger", many white people put on this show of being open minded and color blind but behind closed doors, "Niggers" are to blame. Now what we are to be blame for excatly, I have no clue? My people, we are no better. As you can tell, I digress.

The Color of America

Like millions other, I'm keeping up with the election and I must say that I'm highly pissed. I have to ask the obvious and rhetorical question, "does the shade of Obama skin really honestly and truly matter when it comes to the task of running America?". Lets pretend that the entire nation thought like my fellow open minded Americans and look at his platform, it's prefect: focus on the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, because it isn't looking too grand at the moment. Don't believe me? Retire elderly people are returning to the work place, health care for the unable is a joke, this recession is becoming very reminiscent of The Great Depression which started on Wall street and made it's way to Main Street. Let me change gears for a few lines or so, why on this God given Earth are people referring to Obama as a "terrorist"? Uneducated people have no idea about Islam so it would be my pleasure to fill them in right quick: "Allah" is Arabic for "God", is the second largest religion but continues to grow, majority of blacks are Muslim and the major difference between Christianity and Islam is the belief that Muhammad was the last prophet and that Jesus was not the Lord's son. Got it? Most of these ignorant Neo Nazis who talk down about Obama and plan (but failed and will continue to) need his ass the most, kind of funny isn't it? Riddle me this Batman, what more can Obama do to this already lagging nation? Those questionable people who put Bush's simple ass in office need to stop bashing Obama because believe it or not, he's for you even though your against him. And to those McCain supporters, this nation built its damn self, now we're relaying on China. What kind of shit is this? Give Obama a chance to get some of America's respect and pride back. Just a thought though. I wear my Obama pins proudly, made my voice heard and voted so I suggest you do the same and vote for the change. Obama '08
